want to set closed captions but that option doesn’t appear on my remote.
I’m in accessibility and when I scroll down my options are different from the ones you mention. I don’t have a closed caption option option. The last option on my remote is below colour inversion and says ‘remote button repeat’. Any suggestions please. Thanks

Simple answer: Press the UP ARROW while watching TV.

Your instructions are all well and good for antenna TV. But it does diddly-squat about streaming. The E-Manual is worthless in this topic and it touts itself as a "smart" TV. In fact, the word "arrow" is never used in the whole document. So here's how you do it: While watching your program in Hulu, Paramount, Prime Video etc, simply press the UP arrow. A settings box will appear and allow you to turn on the captions. I'm cross-posting this to help defenseless souls navigate this problem.

If you have the small little black remote that comes with the TV press the 4 colored dots and then press the Blue D then you’ll see captions and you can turn off the captions there.

I have never been so frustrated with a TV set in all my life! I have a so called "smart" Samsung TV in my living room and a smaller Samsung in the den. To get closed caption on the small one all I have to do is press TOOLS and caption appears at the bottom of a list. However with my other set it doesn't show up under TOOLS. The owners manual instructs me to PRESS THE MENU BUTTON and then press SETUP. DUH! The list in the owners manual and the list on the TV screen are totally different! There is NO "SETUP!" Here is the list on my TV screen...Picture, sound, channel, Network, System and Support. None of these display CAPTION!
