Anthem MRX 1140 vs Denon AVR-A110

I love the fact that it's incredibly clean. I don't want my amp to 'color' the sound. Now, if I were to want that, I have a Melos tube pre and I would run it into a front main amp, maybe the PMA 110 or a Parasound. That's whats great about this receiver, you have that option. I think it sounds fantastic on its own. I agree with the room correction, I never use it. Correct the damn room! Software correction damages more than it helps, IMHO.

Thx for sharing. I share your experience with the Denon. I have owned 2 denons and both have had, for the lack of a better word, boring sound. I now have an Arcam and I just love how that receiver hypnotizes me infront if my speakers. Even my girlfriend occationally drops what she is doing and sits down and listen.

When you say warm sounding for the Anthem, could this be compared to a Marantz sound? Coming from Marantz and now moving to Denon, I prefer the Denon sound but have not found a place to audition the Anthem.

The Rotel 1580MKII is the best AV amplifier on the market. Compared to the Denon AVC 8500 and 110, it sounds much more detailed, more precise and it differentiates the action scenes much better. The Denon's are not good, just marketing. I had the opportunity to compare all amplifiers with each other.

If it degraded picture quality?!! Why people are buying it for so much money ? For that money it must upgrade picture level !
