Toyota Tundra and Sequoia slow speed braking system. Turn on or off

How to enable or disable the slow speed automatic braking on the new Tundra. It is called front and rear parking assist with automatic braking. You will need to do this to go through a car wash.

I was backing my trailer and the truck slammed on the brakes scaring the hell out of me and did this several times. Thanks for showing how to shut it off. I was ready to trade my truck for something else, I hate that feature.

Thank you, I drive off road sometimes. Clearly these sensors do not allow for that as I attempted to turn my truck around in a tight space. Thanks for doing this video for if you don’t know the correct terminology for the type of sensor to disengage, it becomes impossible to find it in the manual.

Steve, great information for turning it off. I have a 2022 1794 edition and I tried to back up my short bed utility trailer and could not back the trailer in my driveway until I turned off this feature. It’s that sensitive! I believe once you turn it off it will stay off until you push the button again. I don’t have this problem when backing up my long-tung boat trailer. Short tung utility trailers, yes. Steve, I would like to know if the starter is used to restart your engine at a red light. If it is used over and over you will quickly wear out your starter. I was told that the starter wasn't used after the engine was started. What is used in place of the starter?

Im still having issues going through the car wash on my 2023 SR5 TRD sport. I turn off that function and put vehicle in Neutral but once i get in the car wash it continues through as if the truck is in drive. Any tips on this?

Even with this button set to off, it will still slam the brakes while reversing trailer.

Definitely good to know in a car wash! Otherwise you’ll lose your automatic car wash bumpers as they will roll under your tires and then you will be stuck in the car wash and piss everybody off!

That stupid feature has engaged on me three times when I was driving on the street. For some reason, the stupid truck thought the car in front of me was closer than it actually was and it slammed on the brakes. I’m always afraid someone will rear end me.
