Ready to learn the benefits of nasal breathing & mouth taping while you sleep?

From a general overall health standpoint, it’s clear that breathing through your nose is more beneficial.

It filters allergens and humidifies the air and as you breathe through your nose your paranasal sinuses release NO which improves the overall efficiencies of your respiratory system but there are a lot more benefits that people (including myself ) overlook.

A huge one was the link between obstructive sleep apnea and mouth breathing. I've spent the last 15 years of my life using a CPAP machine only to recently find out that in my case it wasn't needed...

On top of that the benefit of working and exclusively breathing through the nose is that it builds up your CO2 tolerance. This will allow you to breathe more efficiently, improve oxygen delivery and delay fatigue…

“Breathe” was a phenomenal book that changed my outlook on how I breathe.

Mouth taping is the best thing I’ve ever done to sleep and feel better. I think I’ve been doing this for 10 months now: you get more deep sleep, mouth isn’t dry when I wake up, fall asleep faster, and you don’t wake up to pee at all, which is a weird but welcome side effect.

I did yoga for years in my early 30s and learned how to deep breathe through my nose. Now it’s the only way I breathe all the time, to the point that a stuffy nose makes me feel like I’m dying. 100% recommend nose breathing.

I’m gonna have my wife try this while awake.. she doesn’t have sleep apnea but would be beneficial to my mental stability.
Edit; y’all are goofy 🤐

I've been on CPAP for the last 12 years, have just started taping. Everything Ryan said is correct. Another positive is that nose breathing is better for your gums. If your gums dry out, eventually your teeth fall out. CPAP is better than no CPAP but lots of issues mainly around leaks, rainout, marks on your face, and hygiene. I've only been taping for a week but I sleep better already.

Sleeping like this for around 2-3 years now and implementing nasal breathing in everyday life and (light) cardio/activity - love it!

Hello Ryan. I truly appreciate all the work you put in. I've been lifting weights since I was twelve i'm forty six now. And I've learned so much from watching your videos that it has allowed me to expand on my repertoire of exercises. I've been able to break through some plateau's and make some advancements on my muscle tone that I wasn't able to do before. And i've been able to calm my shoulder joint. I always enjoy your humor. It's been really great learning from you. Thank you again sir..

Great advice. Sleeping elevated has cleared all my sinus issues in the morning. Nose breathing and keeping mouth shut has kept me from waking up with a sore throat from snoring. Both have helped immensely!

Been doing this for over two years now. You may not notice it right away but you do start to feel better rested. I was about two months into the mouth taping when one night I forgot. Woke up very tired and a dry mouth (a sign you are sleeping with your mouth open). It took a couple times of forgetting to tape up at night to really realize the benefits I was getting from taping.

I’ve done it for two years. I find I get a better sleep, better dreams, and more muscle development, and I’m in my 50s feeling fantastic, no injuries at the moment and on zero meds.

I had severe asthma as a child and went to a specialist clinic a- they made me do this as much as possible. Playing video games, watching tv and sleeping it did wonders!

Been a lifter for 52 years with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and I finally started on a CPAP machine a couple of months ago. Had a problem with my mouth constantly dropping open and breaking the air seal around the mask which kept waking me up all night long. I tried the chin strap to keep my mouth closed but I hated wearing it and since I have a beard and mustache I don't want to use tape. I finally bought a $12 neck brace which keeps my chin from dropping down while I sleep. It worked! So I now sleep all night with my mouth closed and breathing through my nose is becoming easier, so much so that I gave up using nasal spray. As a side benefit from wearing the neck brace every night my chronic neck pain has also decreased. Yeah, it sucks getting older but since adjusting to the CPAP machine I actually feel much more rested when I wake up in the morning. If you're a bodybuilder and you snore the odds are almost 100% that you have OSA and should get a sleep study done.

Yeah, this is a great book. Went through it a couple of times. I've done the tape thing. It works. But often times the hard part is getting used to just sleeping through your nose. You get there. A netti pot is really, really key too.

I just seen a medical /science video that shows how mouth breathing literally makes a person ugly, due to how it changes their facial features.

Had severe trouble breathing through my nose. Long story. Talked to my doctor got surgery to realign the mess in there and have done a complete 180. Since it wasn’t cosmetic insurance covered it! Life changing!

BEGINNER TOP TIP: USE A NOSE STRIP. If you struggle to breathe from your nose in the first place (and randomly wake up throughout the night out of breath) when taping your mouth shut, start off with a nose strip. After a few weeks your nasal passage adapts and opens up and then you'll be able to do without a strip.
