YouTube creates so many opportunities when you're consistent. If people have been thinking about creating content, the best idea is to Start.

I never started with any goals, never focused on becoming monetized. However, I am roughly halfway there. Whether or not it will ever happen, we'll see. If it doesn't, I can live with that. I like creating videos, the process, the work, the learning curve, the getting better at it. Listening to suggestions.
If it does become monetized, great. Most of any money it brings, especially in the "early" stages. Monetization is not a holy grail, but merely a bonus, that might pay part of this hobby and help to improve it.
But, alas, that is my standpoint, I fully understand many focus on achieving monetization asap, that is absolutely fine!

Mr. Wilson, you're NUTS! But that's why your videos are so damn good. You cannot just watch a small part of the video, you must watch ALL of it, from beginning to end. You use small objects (like peas) and lists of countries to hold the viewers' attention throughout the entire video. Brilliant! That's why I look forward to your videos. Ads in the middle of Shorts will ruin the integrity of how you drive the audience. They might see the ad and skip and scroll.

The sad truth is though, there are creators out there that lack quality on content and just upload 30-60 second clips (non-shorts format) and get paid as much as $5, 000 just for 1 30 second video alone... I know this because I myself have made short clip videos showing off funny moments during my gameplay and have had payouts quite large from ad-revenue. It's crazy and also unfair. You have people that spend days upon days, weeks upon weeks creating high quality content for less than say 5K views on a video to get paid 50x less than someone making a clip video that took them 2 minutes.

You guys have the best video edition! They rock! And are funny. Congrats! And thanks for the YT tips.

Hey vidiq, I wanted to know whether or not where you live could influence the way the algorithm spreads YouTube shorts cause I live in South Africa and ever since I sent my first Minecraft shorts I have been getting 1000 views on each constantly(and I wouldn't get a single view more from that day on that short) until now which is only 4-5 views.I wanted to know is the anything I can do to spread my videos to more people

I have seen 1 ad 1 time on a short & it was recently (past few weeks or so). I was surprised cause I’d never seen that before but I just assumed that creator must be monetised & be a top channel. Nice to know I’m partly wrong. It gives me hope ☺️☺️
