Short vídeo, right to the point and comparison of wrong & right ways to sumo squat. I’m bookmarking it to show my PT who taught me a quad dominant squat. Just would have liked you to show a side view.

my insides twitched uncomfortably when she was demonstrating the common mistake of knees caving in, how someone can do that without realizing it's a major redflag from the excruciating pain they must be experiencing is beyond me lol

Im confused. I just watched another video where the person demonstrating is hinging forward...as in a normal squat but in the sumo squat position. Here you keep your chest up. Can you explain the difference in what the two variations do? Now i don't know which is correct.

Yep nailed it Atkins. I see a great deal of incorrect videos on youtube. This is perfect.

Rt way to do start from 0:45sec.
Wide stance n feet at 45°angle
Chest straight up n toe pointed out n knees bent outward.

One addition, they do not fully lock their knees when they do it, and they try to go lower if want to increase the intensity (not by much probably and inch or so).
Do not attempt to carry additonal weight as proper form is more beneficial

I've been struggling with joint hypermobility having wrecked my left knee and right hip. Regular straight squats were my go to psysiotherapy, but they now cause the bad knee to click. I just thought I would try these instead and it works much better due to the knee moving outward instead of forwards, and not having to crouch all the way down. Big relief in both the bad knee and hip from 10-20 squats, will repeat a few times daily.

What is the difference between a plie squat and a sumo squat? They look very similar.
