As someone with serious hip impingements, sumo deadlifts have done wonders for opening up my hips and increasing glute activation. IDGAF whether trolls on the internet think it's "cheating"

Sumo is only easier if your hip placement allows for it. Even then easier is a relative term. Easier in performance with less pain, but the same muscle groups are engaged and for”short people” you’ll find the bar path is comparable. Jeff Nipard has whole video about it incorporating scientific analysis and reference to medical literature.

What is everybody talking about 😅 it's not about sumo being easier wtf its like saying adduction is easier than abduction so only noobs do adduction 😅😅 Sumo deadlifts emphasize the quadriceps, adductors, and glutes with less stress on the lower back, while conventional deadlifts focus more on the hamstrings, glutes, and lower back with a longer range of motion. I have both versions on different days in my workout plan...

Both are legit, your anatomy determines which one let's you generate more force. Jeff nippard did a great video on this, also I lift conventional and a lot of this conversation is driven by conventional lifter against sumo, so y'all just chill stop caring what others do and focus on getting as strong as you can. Y'all be in the gym do a lot stupid shit anyway.

I would recommend both. I find that conventional is harder on the lockout and easier on the start while sumo is the opposite but try it out yourselves to see which one works best for you
