Some of you in the comments have pointed out that the word “Easter” appears in Acts 12:4. I appreciate your engagement, and I wanted to offer some clarity on this important point.

Yes, the word “Easter” does appear in the Bible, but only once, and only in the King James Version.

In Acts 12:4, the KJV uses the word “Easter.” But the original Greek word is “pascha, ” which always means Passover. All other major translations, including the NKJV, translate it correctly as Passover.

This issue mainly affects two major languages: English and German. In both, the word Easter was inserted due to tradition, not because of accurate translation.

In my mother tongue, Portuguese, we don’t even have this problem. The word used is Páscoa, which faithfully means Passover. In Acts 12:4, it simply says Páscoa.

So why did the KJV say “Easter”? Because it followed earlier English translations, like the Bishop’s Bible, where “Easter” was already in place. But familiarity doesn’t mean correctness. Scholars agree: Pascha means Passover, not Easter.

While it doesn’t affect core doctrine, it reminds us of how important it is to stay close to the original languages of Scripture.

In short, the word “Easter” is not found in the original biblical languages; it is a later adaptation.

PS: Just a quick note at minute 0:29: When I say "a dozen plagues, " I’m referring to the well-known ten plagues of Egypt described in the Bible. I used "a dozen" poetically, to loosely suggest a large number and to evoke a sense of overwhelming devastation, not to imply there were literally twelve. Biblically, there were ten. Looking back, I realize this wording might give the wrong impression, and I apologize for any confusion.

PS²: At 10:54, I'm not endorsing the eating of candy or chocolate eggs. In my household, we don’t practice that, we teach our children the proper understanding of these things. I'm referring to other children, not my own. If we come across children who bring this up or ask about it, we should lovingly explain the truth. They’re still young and sensitive, and I’m not talking about addressing fully grown adults here.

Just yesterday my boss wanted me to go and help stuff Easter eggs. I responded "I will have nothing to do with Easter." She replied "but I want you to." This is pressure from an employer. A Catholic boss. My second response was "I will not" Even if she then began to explain to me that the eggs are a symbol of "new life" I would have been willing to lose my job right then and there rather than to rationalize how my involvement with Easter symbols was somehow ok. It is not! You can either break from paganism 100% or you remain a part of it. One can rationalize their way into judgment but one cannot rationalize their way out of it.

I stopped celebrating Easter a long time ago. Because i knew there was something wrong about it. God showed me why its wrong!! I celebrate the resurrection of Christ every day! But I refuse to even attend church events for easter.

I’m so sad. I did not raise my children with any pagan originated themes for Judeo-Christian Holidays. No halloween-harvest celebration; no Easter bunny;spring baskets heralding spring;Christmas was celebrating HIS birth;gifts & lights celebrating winter etc.
They are married with kids & ungodly mates; Santa, Easter bunny;haunted houses; ghost movies;familiar spirits & more. We don’t see them anymore because we don’t fit their worldliness. That’s ok.
