I have to get mine on a trailer and don't have a battery anymore so I'm really glad you posted this because I was worried I wouldn't be able to get it out of park and didn't know what else to do. Definitely earned a like and subscribe!

The 2008 CTS is a little different. It has a little arm with a hook that sticks straight up just forward (toward front of car) of where his white button is located. If you have skinny fingers or a tool with a hook, you only have to pull the shift lever boot up and out of the way. You can then reach in and pull the lever arm back toward the rear of the car.

If you can't reach the lever then you will have to take the console apart.

My 2009 cts gear is not trying to go into park and wont allow me to start my car, what do you recommend cause it made arattling sound and loud noise in the gear shifting part

Hey, I never had a problem getting mine out of park before, battery went dead took it out to replace it under warranty, don't drive my Caddy in the winter so wasn't in a hurry to put the battery back in, had the battery out for about 2 months now that I put it back in I have this happen! Any suggestions on why you think I can't get it out of park after having battery out?? Thanks
