With similar tires and body styles, the 2013 Toyota Sienna and 2013 Honda Odyssey should perform in a similar manner. But this Sienna is the much less popular all-wheel-drive model, and it makes a signifigant difference in subpar weather conditions.

From other Odyssey owners, the REAL struggle in snow/ice is going up hills vs an AWD van.

I just bought a '17 awd. Sadly I'll have to wait almost a year to try drifting it... I mean driving in winter in a completely sensible manner. But if you're not sold on minivans, try a Sienna. I love this beast.

That's why I have a 2012 Toyota Sienna Limited awd, and every dealership wants my van.

Needs to know: is the AWD system in the 2019/20 any different from the 2011 model? 2007 is actually a full time AWD system. In the 2011, going up slippery hills the traction control just brings the van to a stop, kind of counter productive! There is also NO limited slip, so if one wheel starts to spin, the whole can comes to a stop or won't even "git" going. Is the 2019 any better?

*Beware!!! Of AWD*
(1), All tires must be approximately equal circumference or you might screw up your “differential” & it will be not covered under warranty
(2), You must use a flat-bed tow truck to tow. You cannot tow with 2 wheels, and you cannot tow behind an RV with all 4 wheels on the ground
(See other YouTube videos for confirmation—May also depend on the type of AWD)

It would be interesting with winter tires. Or Toyota with stock, Honda with winter. Consumer Reports or some such claims snow tires trump AWD by itself.

The sienna looks noticeably taller mirror wise? Is this true ? I’d assume they are the same ride height?

Strange Honda didn't sell the Odyssey 4wd in North America, yet they sold it's direct competition the Toyota Sienna.
I would have thought they would have sold pretty well in the US with the snowy winters ?
In other countries, the Odyssey was available from day one with a 4wd system, right up till the last model.
I had an 01 Odyssey 4wd with seasonal winter tires and was fantastic in snow, mud and ice 👍

What matters more is steering and breaking

The all wheel drive comes with Run flat tires. I have heard that those tires have stiff side walls and give you not as smooth a ride as regular tires. Is this true?

My 2013 sienna awd is worse in the snow than a 2wd I think. Atleast if u get on ice or stuck in just a few inches of snow it only spins 2 tires.

Continental Tru Contact perfomance all season are $50 than OEM Michelins. Never had any issue in the snow and can take off alot quicker that they are in this video.

More important, which one stops faster.

I have a 2014 Honda Odyssey and if you put Cooper at3 on it, it is a beast in 12 inch snow and plus side you can go off road.

odyssey obviously has no intention to improve even 5 years later. at 2024, still no AWD, no hybrid, ...., theay are doin to be defeated till their top old leadershiips are replaced.😅

sienna is a fantastic car. odyssey is great car too but few critical deal-beakers are missing on Honda Odessey unfortunately. (if anyone want to know what are those critical points i can tell you if reply with your comment on this comment) so sienna is best van in its category. thnxs 4 vid.

Did you have the same tires on both vehicles...if not...then this video is worthless.
