I love it that this guy can get the point across in 3 minutes. Other youtubers waste 10 minutes or more of my time telling me the same thing.

This guy is so old school and cheap, it reminds me of my dads quick fixes...Gotta love him. Keep it up Scotty, your the man.

Deserves a like for popping out from the trunk.

Remember, AWD gives you better grip during acceleration, but it won't make you stop any faster.

I have an AWD vehicle for my wife because I don't trust her driving style.

"I'm cheap" It's the most accurate thing I've ever heard him say.

Scotty I'm a huge fan of your videos. They have helped me out when it comes to fixing cars and now I'm pursuing a career in Automotive Technology. Thank you for everything you do.

We own 2 AWD and love how stable they feel all the time. I knew about buying all 4 tires at once going into ownership so I'm good.

Solid advice, good job.
I have told people about the "replacing all four tires" if one tire gets a cut or has unrepairable damage, after many miles and they are usually stunned.

Living in Canada, what's more important that AWD is a good set of snow tires. :)

My dad had a 4wd Jeep Wagoneer back in the 60's - It came in handy during Chicago's 1967 blizzard which dumped over 2 feet of snow in 24 hours. Cars were stuck all over the roads. But with 4wd, the deep, slippery snow was problem!

No, the problem was, there were cars stuck or abandoned all over the place and he was trapped on the highway waiting for all the other cars to move.

I live in Minnesota and bought my first AWD Subaru Forester in 2013. Changed my entire view on Winter and snow and will always buy an AWD vehicle.

For family AWD vehicles, Subaru Forester or Subaru Outback would be my number 1 choice. They make the best vehicles that can operate in any given terrain. They have the incredible AWD symmetric systems that are very capable and reliable.

It's important to know all AWD systems are NOT the same. Some systems are FWD bias, 50 50 split, RWD bias and some even don't kick in until slippage is detected. That's why it's important to look these things up before jumping on a car because it's advertised to have "AWD".

Good dedicated winter tires, which replaced every five years that's all I ever needed. The best traction I ever had was with a moderately priced set of generic tires, which were studded at the time of purchase. I was one of the few, who could proceed even on uphill covered with black ice.

I actually have a 2011 Acura MDX which is AWD and it works great in the rain and on dry road. Never tested in the snow, but others agree that Acura's AWD is one of the best for Crossovers.
