What Is AWD (all-wheel drive) & Do You Need It?

What is AWD? Don't be ashamed if you don't know because most people don't know.

Often your friends and local dealership will use the terms AWD with 4WD but they are NOT the same.

Thanks much for this very short, informative video! Very helpful, even 4 years later. Had soccer Mom car for a few years (2015 Honda Odyssey) until 2018 when we could now get a smaller Kia 2018 Sorento. Our first vehicle with AWD... never had a 4 wheel drive vehicle either. Our Kia has a switch by the gear box that can fully activate AWD, which I'm going to recommend for my wife today, as we seem to already have about 3 inches of snow now... and it's still coming. She works at a higher elevation location with pretty steep hills... so the "on" option may come in handy. Not sure if she should keep it on when she gets to the highway, as that should be clear for now. She's 30 minutes from home.
