If we all gang up and quit together we'll have no choice but to restore community and proper socialization.

I quit social media and realized how lonely I actually am. Hopefully eventually I can cultivate a real life with real people to meet with off social media. Thank you

Definitely deleted social media a couple times, but always came back to it honestly because I felt isolated and out of touch with people. I thought I was feeling out of touch with "reality" but it was the fantasy world that social media creates that I was feeling distant and out of touch with. I think I deleted social media for six months but felt like I had to go back to relate to other people again, but I clearly see now those people and I are not meant to understand or relate to each other.

I actually deleted instagram and all the social media and now I'm feeling good by learning new things on youtube and reading books and also I feel alive and that's the point!

Quit everything finally. First twitter, then Snapchat, then finally instagram. I have YouTube and I love it - but no more social media. I am DONE.

Gen Z are so smart, you guys are actually the first generation that I saw aware of this and in my opinion, the generation that hurt the most by the internet. It doesn't matter if you stumbles from time to time (may God bless you) but to talk about this and share it with people about things that the past generation never think of, so inspiring. We love you and we wish you good luck running the future! - sincerely, Gen Y.

I just deactivated all my social accounts, it’s crazy how much I didn’t realize how NOT NORMAL everything is. It’s normal now in a sense but so sad, people really don’t talk to each other genuinely anymore, my grandparents would always say this & I didn’t truly get it. I haven’t had friends now for a while so cutting out social media too pushes me to actually go out into the world! 😭👏🏼

I quit social media for 4 months, it was a means for me for escapism and to make my isolation seem bearable. After deleting my ig I saw how much life has to offer, I started socialising more, went on walks, started volunteering met more people, taking my studies and career more seriously. Don't miss out on your life people 🙏🏽

The most difficult thing about quitting social media is that you have to face how lonely you are in real life. I personally have no friends and my relationship with my family is not that great so whenever I try to cut back on my use of social media I find myself feeling extremely lonely as I have nothing to replace it with. They are those who say you should just get out and do things on your own but trust I tried and I tried and I always failed miserably. It becomes difficult to connect with people and form relationships with them once you finish school. Especially, if you are socially inexperienced like I am and old as I am. It is just human nature, we can't help but feel a bit suspicious when we encounter an adult person with no social proof. It is hard and honestly all I am hoping for in this stage of my life is too feel less pain because sometimes the loneliness can be so crushing.

i'm so happy that deleting social media is getting spoken about recently, because let's be honest it's easier said than done but once you're fully done with it, it feels amazing. I had fully deleted social media in the middle of 2019, it was pretty hard in the beginning only because social media had become one of my daily routines but i realised how much time i'm wasting of my own life just scrolling and comparing and reading other people's opinions, which is not healthy for any human being at all. Just imagine how peaceful and happier everyone would be without social media not knowing other's negative thoughts and comparisons.

I was getting to know a group of girls and we were still in that stage of not being friends yet but hanging out. And we exchanged social media accounts, literally the next day after they added my instagram they became so different. They were all very friendly and wanting to become closer, it was an obvious difference from before. It was almost as after they saw my profile and my pictures they realized I was “enough” to be part of their group. I know it’s normal for these things to happen in high school and most people are like that. But I decided I didn’t want to be part of that, even though sometimes I made those judgments myself. That was when I decided to deactivate my Instagram. I honestly don’t see the greatest difference in my day to day life, but I feel so much better when I meet someone and I don’t care if their pictures look “weird” and if they have friends or not. I always hated this thing where you are what your instagram profile portraits

I what you mean about the beauty of meeting people with no idea who they are or no bias. I remember automatically judging people in one way or another based off the first glance of their profile. It is liberating to not have that false first impression to go off of.

You have a very mature and wise perspective on this subject! I was on FB for about 10 years, and deleted it about 4 years ago. After going through "withdrawal", for about a month, my life blossomed! I am SO much happier now, and I didn't realise how deep I was sucked into that strange world until I got out.
To anyone reading this, after you delete your SM accounts, don't return to it! Go out for walks, call friends, read books, etc. You WILL get over the withdrawal anxiety, and your life will be richer. 💖

You mean to tell that you actually quit social media that long? That’s incredibly remarkable, and you sound very wise for your age. This is something I should’ve done a long time ago.

I went step by step. First was facebook. Then twitter. The last one, and the real challenge, was instagram. I've been 3 or 4 years without them. Never liked them but i felt pressure to use them to be included, but social media triggered me daily and made me feel constantly anxious. I'm more stable and happy now!

I'd definitely say that if any of you are going through the first weeks, remember that social media is literally like a drug that many of us used to escape from reality. It's detox. It's not pretty and we have to face those things we don't like. But it's worth it and once it's done, everything gets better 💖

This video is truly inspiring! I don’t usually share recommendations, but I have to tell you about the book women’s magic truths on borlest. It offers unique perspectives on wealth and self-care that you won’t find elsewhere. Wishing everyone all the best

deleting definitely makes you face yourself and your insecurities head on because you can't drown them in the noise. it's sort of like waking up from a bad dream. i've had instagram deleted for three months, and had it completely deactivated for like six weeks - watching videos like these had made me realize it takes way longer than that to break the cycle of addiction and i still have a lot to learn - my brain is still hardwired to want to post and brag on instagram and i keep realizing that's not an option anymore. i'm looking forward to what my life can look like if i keep going.

Deleted it for my 20th birthday, 10/10 recommend, it was so isolating at first but it has taught me to be more confident and actually makes it easier to meet people because I am excited to learn about them.
