I 100% agree never had social media besides YouTube but all of this is ruining society

I'm really glad you touched on the really specific detail of bypassing Instagram's "log in to see more posts" by clicking on "open in new tab". That and your main points really do make the whole "I quit social media!" claim that much harder to believe. I do commend you for doing it for yourself, though.
Also, I like that you mentioned other types of "junk" that are part of our "diets" like food and the actual content we see on social media because a scary and saddening truth is that it is in fact all connected to our wellness. Like you said, so many people are stuck in mindsets that are harming them, whether they're aware or not, and though it's hard for me to watch, all we can do is what you're doing: find what's better, and moreover, best for us.
Awesome video as usual, man, rant-y or not. We love to see it.

Deleted instagram 8 months ago and haven’t looked back. It’s really unhealthy, addictive and distracting. Why spend so much time looking at what others are doing when you should focus on your own life and spend time in the present and make the most of it. Great videos. Don’t quit YouTube 😊

I deleted Facebook years ago- got rid of Tik Tok a few years ago due to the algorithm sending some weirdness my way, got rid of Instagram years ago- had to restart a Facebook for school (I resented this)- and only had 45 friends. This was funny- it stumped the algorithm. I still have you tube- which is an addiction. The algorithm gets stumped with me. Does anyone have the experience that you cannot find the information that you want because everything is CURATED for your consumption? I have to research on databases- but only when I’m a student. Otherwise- you cannot find the information you want- it will only send you certain things.
Therefore- it is NOT informative! We are not accessing information anymore.
A rant- I will go on a walk now.

Social media plays a critical role in promoting business. I don't have Facebook, Tik Tok and Instagram. We need more positive things.

and you know, as bad as things might be in society, to look at all that junk etc, you got to remember Andrew, you've at least motivated me to make positive changes in my life, and im sure there are others in your subscribers who agree. also, totally relate on that stuff with your mum..

When i quit social media or take a break or whatever, i think it is very important to have other social engagements to replace it. I would go to social media for a reason (connection). It seems like you are struggling with alot of chronic anxiety. I do sometimes and it's normal. Lifting weights, friends, and connection help me alot. We live in a very atomized society and it can be tough. All the best.

Yay, I'm glad you settled on this, because this is my main source of entertainment. 😃
I've heard of people who "deleted" their accounts, and when they went to recreate it, was told the account already exists, and were able to get back into it again years later.
Think of all those who create a lot of fraudulent accounts for ulterior motives thinking there's no forever records of what they've done.
Better to have the smallest footprint you can online with everything.
I can tell you from experience that you can spend tons of money on healthcare, yet still be sick with no diagnosis, and you get frustrated, stop going for a while to recover and save money, then repeat the cycle when symptoms get too bad again.
I miss the days of knowing everyone in your neighborhood and blocks away, life is way easier when you don't have to take it all on yourself.

I deactivated my Facebook account just to see how I'd do, and it's been almost a year now. Really my only social media is LinkedIn, in case I need to get a new job.

Loneliness is real, and it gets harder when you're older. But your heart is in the right place. Stay strong!

Social media is so toxic, especially Facebook. I feel like platforms such as Instagram when most people who follow you genuinely don’t like you or aren’t real friends anyway they just use it to see what you’re up to or to show off what’s good in their life rather than reality, I stopped posting completely and deleted it for good, minimise monitoring spirits! And less distractions

Quite will either break you or make you stronger. If you can not live instead yourself for hours at a time with no interruptions the van may become you worst enemy, but if you learn to center yourself in the quite and be happy with who you are regardless of what others think or say it will be a great experience

Hi buddy! I really liked your video. You jumped here and there but it was so genuine, honest and spontaneous... I've seen myself in many of the things you said. Social media, mobile phones and all the digital distractions are really taking control of our time, minds, souls and ability to get focused on one single thing. Not to mention the isolation they're creating, as opposed to the connections they're supposed to build among people. I believe you're taking the right path by trying to create your own world where you are in control of what happens in your life. I'm trying to do the same by using technology wisely, trying not to get absorbed by all these digital distractions. Minimalism is a philosophy that I embrace but not at its full extension: I'm trying to find a balance. It's more or less what happens with money, or nuclear energy: they can be good or bad, depending how we use them. In my experience I realized that spending some time disconnected, fully immersed in Nature, maybe walking a few days alone along trail paths and making acquaintance with the people I meet and spending time with them helps me a lot to reclaim to myself that sense of living on real, touchable and physical things and feel comfortable with the way I live my life which is good as it is, because I want it to be that way and I don't care what influencers or the public Internet opinion say. Sorry for being so long. I hope I made myself clear 'cause English is not my native language and I jotted down these words without thinking too much, more or less like you did in your clip :D Please keep on with your videos: they're inspiring and make people reflect on things. I wish you'll find your way in this life (actually I'm sure you will... ). ;) Cheers!

very down to the ground experience without that baits and eye candy. Just a heart to heart sharing.
I feel like social media was there for us to use, but it is slowly becoming / will be come a necessary way to connect with the 'internet world' or perhaps in the future 'connect to ai network world'. like they need u to log in to view.

Crazy how economies, and businesses already cannot get rid of internet, almost as if it is a plague or a pandemic

I really applaud you doing such things in the modern world. Almost like the world convincing you to wear nikes and barefoot was the simple way to fix it.

To me it seems, it's about being ok with being. Social media (amongst aother things) can provide accessible means for channeling the compulsiveness that, at least in my case, orignates from trying to escape feeling (e.g. anxiety or fear). I have found that if I sit in the feeling, whatever it may be, after a few momonets (could be minutes) I will see the other side of it, and will be stronger and more comfortable for the days to come. I highly recommend the following: next time you reach for a device compulsively (e.g. a phone to scroll on some social media app), don't! Instead recognise the compulsiveness of the moment and sit with that uncomfortable feeling and try to identify and label the feeling; observe it as it may feel like it is originating in a specifc part in the body and then watch it dissipate. Worth a shot! It works for me!
The point about social media companies not doing what they say they will is very important and should be addressed via activism and regulation, I believe.
Van's looking good!
