While using this live monitoring, can nanny ask alexa for baby songs?

I used a variation of this. I needed something to monitor my waiting area down the hall from my office. I wanted a larger screen than my phone to be always on so I could quickly look at it from my desk. I installed a Wyze v3 camera in the waiting area and wirelessly connected it to the office router network with the Wyze app on my phone. Then I bought an Echo Show 8 - 2nd generation and installed the Alexa app on my phone. I downloaded the Wyse skill for Alexa and was able to display the v3 camera on the Echo.

The connection sometimes cuts out (not because of signal strength) and I have to re-select the camera on the Echo which is annoying but it gives me a large, HD color picture that is always on. This is much better than a baby monitor and even allows me to see the waiting area from anywhere on my phone when I’m away from the office. This was much less expensive than a traditional security camera setup. I tried this using a Nest camera but the connection was not reliable. I covered the camera on the Echo with the shutter and disabled everything I could including the microphone.

Great video! I also use an ICSee camera to discreetly monitor our LR/kitchen when we leave the house. Some may want this option. (Just started watching your channel and don't know if you already recommend anything like this - there's no expectation of privacy for visitors in my home when we are away)

Thanks for the video! I have motion detection set up on the echo and it sends a push notification to my phone when someone enters my room. Is there a way to have the echo turn on your camera when motion is detected instead of it sending me just a notification?

I set it up awhile back but now trying to look at it again it looks like ill have to reconnect all. Will this happen once you loose electricity maybe?

I just can't see the difference between this, shown in the video, and doing a drop in to my echo show when away from home. I bet the only diff is that in drop in I can talk and been listened to on the other side... I think that's the deal, right? I would love to have this feature in "spy" mode, where you'd be able to see what is going on somewhere without people knowing they were been screened. Thanx

Is the echo the camera or do I need a separate camera?
