Changing the wake word is going to be key for me. I've had my Show 5 for half a year now and haven't used it after set up because my other echo devices would hear my request. I'm looking forward to using this while cooking! It'll be so much easier than washing my hands dozens of times to check my phone for the recipe! Thanks so much!

I can't believe that for as long as I've had the Echo Show 5, I've not done more than set the basic alarm and ask for the current weather. I was considering the Echo Dot for my wife's nightstand but after watching this, I'm getting her one. Thanks for the demonstration.

Thanks for the video! I understand there is now a 3rd generation, but with no micro USB port. Can this 2nd generation device support Ethernet connection? Please advise.

Hi, very helpful video, thank you :) I just got my Echo Show 5, even got the new update, so the drop-down menu looks different. But what I cannot find is how to get rid of the constant fadeout of the screen. I would like to have just one photo, however, it fades like it is in a photo compilation. And, for my big surprise, it is happening even with the factory installed clocks. Do you know how to fix this, please? Thank you and best of luck :)

Nice video 👍 question, can you have the display show a clock all the time? No adverts etc, just a clock. Was thinking about an echo dot with clock display, BUT as this can connect and show me connected cameras, I would much prefer this device.

I have 2 questions about it that maybe you'll know. Question 1, does YouTube still work because multiple sources say it does, and others say it doesn't? I'm writing this on Dec 2, 2021. And question 2, can you cast from your phone to the device? Thank you for your time and the video. This device has so many neat features. I am torn between it and the Google Nest Hub which I've heard it's ability to recognize commands isn't as good, and I've seen that first hand as my friend often has some rude words for her Google Nest Mini, which honestly I think is hilarious but I may not feel that when it's me having similar issues.

I am new to this world. While attaching a battery base E07, I accidently got a movie and wanted it to stop! I tried all commands I could think of and the best I got was a temporary pause. I texted my sister and she basically said to reboot the unit (1 of 2 ways). That worked. What COMMAND can I give to stop the play totally?! I spoke simple and then complex commands w/o success.

Is the echo show 5 sound similar to echo show 8?

The “internet” appears to show you can add subtitles (or “closed captioning”) to conversations when calling someone else on the Echo Show in “video-phone” mode, but I cannot see how to do this on my UK Echo Show. I bought one for my mother who is hard of hearing with the expectation that it could do this as I’ve seen video evidence ( US video anyway)… Any ideas?
