I have taken electrical classes in school and this was in the 90's when almost all items were mainly soldered through boards. And I grew up learning electrical engineering from my grandpa. THese are great! I use one every day with my dynavap, I've heard and seen photos of people having bad results when using the screw terminals rather than soldering the coil to the board.

It could be cool fixing a smaller coil / bigger & longer knife, along with a temperature controller hooked up to the blade, enabling to set an approximate temperature for the knife
