The A300 was Airbus’ first aircraft and there are only a few places left where it is still in service. In fact, Iran is one of the countries where the plane flies with several airlines. Let’s find out why this is...

I had flown with Olympic Airways A300-600 variant of multiple times. By far one of my favourite aircraft of all time.

Yes! I love your iranian aviation videos! Many people don't know the history of Iran 🇮🇷✈🇮🇷

Fun fact: The A300-600 was built all the way until 2007, though the last passenger version rolled off the assembly line in 2002.

Sad part is, one day, one of those will crash for some mechanical failure and hundreds of innocent people will have to die just because people higher up wanted to play war game. ☹️

The trouble is, if Iran is not allowed to purchase aircraft spares, then it’s possible that their planes could be flying with “ over time “ parts, thus risking poor old Joe public.

Seems kind of dangerous forcing airlines to fly increasingly aging aircraft and not giving them a route to safely maintain them. How long before an aloha airlines happens in iran air?

I've been once inside the A300... In Toulouse's Aeroscopia Museum, inside the first A300 and I am very glad I saw how this airplane was the start of Airbus!

Keep aviation out of politics. Lives depend on it. If Iran is forced to use older aircrafts, it can be a potential threat

I flew a few domestic flights in Iran: cheap, comfortable and right on time! It was older MD88 or Fokker 100 but they seemed to have a good maintenance. What was impressive though was the number of dismantled aircrafts at the airport, probably sacrificed to get spare parts to maintain those which were flying! I’m not surprised by the figures displayed by that video!
Anyway if you can go and visit Iran, GO! That was one of my favorite trips (people, cultural heritage, food...)

At 2:28, was it just me or did he say “A330” instead of A300?

Another interesting fact is IranAir was the first Airbus customer in middle east ;)
I think sanctions should be lifted soon. IranAir also wrote a letter to Boeing recently asking them to fulfil the contract.
3:30 That landing was a pure butter ! You understand better how these planes last long

That’s a butter landing at the end. But to be honest I hope they get new airplanes soon.

Regardless it's a classic and a beauty.

Iran Air was also the final customer for serval 747 variants for the same reason they are still using A300

Sometimes it's better to fly old A300 than brand new B737 Max...
