DIY Small Bathroom Renovation with EXTREME before & after! | Lake House Makeover | The DIY Mommy

It's time for another extreme room makeover in our Little Lake House! We're turning a dated, small bathroom into a modern coastal retreat. The bathroom had to be completely demolished after we found damage within the walls, and re-built from the ground up. Using tiles Sean had in his inventory and budget-friendly finishes, we're creating a luxe look on a budget. Shiplap, marble, white and blue colours, and lots of texture helps give this bathroom a lake house vibe.

Schluter Ditra isn’t just waterproofing, it’s also an uncoupling membrane but you’re not supposed to use less than 2x2” mosaics over the surface.. The corners and seams in the shower also needed Keri band, and hopefully you back buttered the 12x24’s to obtain full coverage. Also wondering why he used the Jolly profile to hide the exposed edges on the tiled “baseboard” and not on the edge between the bathroom wall & tiled wall. I’d also recommend sealing the marble floor, with natural stone being extremely soft and porous it’s prone to staining with micro cavities. Other than that, great work!

Very pretty! Love the colors and tile size. I wish you had included more storage in the shower and a bigger shower door. While it's pretty I can't see myself living here without having to truck in all of my shower necessities every wash day. Knowing this is the only bathroom in the house I'd have to be creative with storage close to the bathroom to make things work.

Amazing the different standards in different countries. We are required to have the floor and wet areas water proofed which is a much more extensive process than seen in this video.

Honestly this brought back a lot of memories of our old home. Seems like every time we dove into a remodel project it went deeper than we had thought it should. Your bathroom is gorgeous!!!!
