I would get yourself ready for a late May to mid June release. That's late Spring, not Summer. They want to have 6-8 million units ready for the launch, and it's going to take until May or June before they've gathered that many. March is just too early, it would sell out immediately and then help the scalpers, something Nintendo doesn't want.

There's a reasonable limit to how long you'd want to keep merchandise in a warehouse. Storage space, and security for the goods inside has a cost.

So if Nintendo has been receiving boxed Switch 2 units since at far back as September, it's highly unlikely that they'll be sitting on them for ALMOST a year, waiting for a launch in June next year.

I personally think they will release the switch 2 at the VERY latest end of April because of golden week. They want the maximum out of the switch 2 for their Japanese audience. So basically March would fit also.

Just because the physical product is ready doesn't mean the software is. If this source is correct then it sounds like Nintendo is doing last minute testing. Again, we don't know what is going on. Also, they revealed the Switch in October and released it in March. They will need to do a similar model especially since the handheld market is huge. Consumers will want to know the difference with Switch 2 compared with other devices besides price.
