Is the letter ‘w’ pronounced as an English v like in German? I’m having a hard time hearing if you say vat or wat

Eerlijk gezegd klinkt dit gewoon als plat nederlands.

Moin Martin! I can see many alikenesses with Dutch, while at the same time Sassisk being clearly another tung:

- Wo geyt et? -> Hoe gaat het?
- Wat is uwen name? -> Wat is uw naam?
- Wo heyt y? -> Hoe heet je?
- Ik heyte Martin -> Ik heet Martin.

Also, does "moin" come from the same root as "morgen"? I know it has another meaning in Sassisk but maybe it has shifted from "morning" to "good morning" and then to "hi/hello".

Anyway, I know Sassisk is having a hard time and I hope it can do well. It's a wonderful tung, don't let it die!
