notice how the elbow and even the upper body is a bit slanted and not straight when dipping the ball winding up. Only the last split second before release does the elbow and body straighten for the release. This way, you create tension (strength needed for the shot in order to hit a far distance three). When the ball reaches the top, the body is relaxed for the final release. Another thing, when shooting, you are not evenly distributing the weight 50/50 on each leg. One leg (usually the left leg if you are a right handed shooter) has more of the weight distributed (probably a 60/40 or 70/30 distribution ). So essentially all jump shots are one legged jump shots.
