One day we are going to hang out in person, have cookies and tea, watch Pride and Prejudice, and craft the whole time. I've never heard of What Matters in Jane Austen puzzle book, that one sounds really intriguing! I'll add it to the TBR

So excited! I too am not a huge fan of Sense and Sensibility but I also find that I get more out of it with every reread. I think this year will be the third or fourth time reading it, and I'm sure I'm going to love it a little more this time too. I'm intrigued by that recipe book, I love reading about what people ate and drank in the past, and it sounds like it would be fun to try some of those recipes.
Also that gimmicky Time Travel Jane Austen Retelling where she's the protagonist's neoghbout has just gone straight to my TBR shortlist. It sounds delightful.

There is a book called Martha Lloyd's Household Book which a number of authors have edited and annotated. Martha Lloyd was a close friend of Jane and Cassandra Austen, lived with them (possibly as a sor of housekeeper) and eventually became their sister-in-law. The book is a collection of recipes and notes about running the household.

I'll definitely joining in with Jane Austen July this year! I have three books queued up already and may have a few more by the time July comes around.

Marissa, this will be my FIRST Jane Austen July! 🤗My plan is to reread Sense and Sensibility since ya'll are reading it as one of the readalongs. I actually read it in April/May of this year, but it was fractured reading which I think impacted my overall enjoyment of the novel. So, I feel like a reread is necessary before rating and reviewing it. I hope that makes sense. 😂 I am a Jane Austen newbie. Even though I have a couple of her novels and books related to Jane Austen, I had only read years ago Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (loved it 😛) prior to reading Sense and Sensibility this spring. I'm also considering listening to it on audiobook this time around and see if that helps as well. Not sure what else I'll be reading or watching throughout the month, but I'm excited to take part in this readathon. I appreciate all of the resources listed below as well as your recommendations.

Thanks for this video. I always love your announcement videos for this readathon! 😊 I just posted my own video for Jane Austen July. I really enjoyed Sanditon on PBS and was not expecting it to me anything other than a creative continuation. I actually preferred S2 to S1 and really looked forward to seeing how the Lord Babbington/Esther Denham story unfolded. Just fun! Have a great week!

Just found your channel. Can’t wait for JAJ. Jane Austen has been my favorite author since i read my first Austen at 13 or so. Persuasion is my favorite Austen novel. I am looking forward to delving into some of the modern retellings.

Your enthusiasm is wonderful! Thank you. Although little can compare to Jane Austen's writings, Hamerston Hall by Jane Eastbourne is good.

I’m so happy to see you here—and excited about this year’s Jane Austen July! For a while when I was young, Sense and Sensibility was my favorite Austen. That seems to be unusual!

I am so excited about JAJ this year, and the group plans line up exactly with the plans I had already made for Jane's works. I look forward to reading S&S and the two novellas. I also plan to read The Real Jane Austen, so I love that it's one of your favorites.

Oh yay - S&S is the only Austen novel I haven't read. So I'll join in the readalong. Think I'll also plan to read either Lucy Worsley's Jane Austen at Home or What Matters in Jane Austen. We'll see if I get to anything else
