Modern quilters have it so easy. I am 71 and I have new respect for my grandmother who made all of her squares and strips with a pair of scissors and a12 inch school ruler from discarded clothing on an old singer. Nothing premade and no commercial pelon or batting. Now those were truly labors of love, and what an accomplishment.

Thank you for the video. I quit little quilting I did after diagnosis with cancer. I m not good at it. But enjoy spending time doing it. But this video tempted me to finish my scrap and may be I will give it a go. I m from Sri Lanka where long arm machine even doesn’t exist for what I know. Only garment factories probably might have.

Perfect timing. I just received 30+ QAYG log cabin blocks from the 1970s. Go gold, orange and brown! Im going to use this method to stitch up several smaller quilts for charity and honor the mystery woman who made the blocks so lovingly all those years ago.
