Several of you have asked about the quilt-as-you-go technique, so today Paulette will show you just how easy it is to do. You can use this tutorial for lots of different things:

✿ Any pattern that calls for quilt as you go, such as:

✿ Any pattern that uses a large piece of quilted fabric, you can make a custom piece with quilt-as-you-go!

✿ Create your own project! Cut to the desired size of your placemat, coaster, or mug rug, add binding, and you’re done!

Nice technique. But what do you do with the edges/borders ? Just trim them ? If so, wouldn't the edges get loose threads, especially after washing ?
