This port injection helps keep the intake valves clean from the closed crankcase ventilation system, egr soot.

Great design. Our Camry is set up that way.

That's the same design on my 3.5 Ecoboost 2019 F150. The port injection (above the valves) only runs during idle. Its to keep the valves clean. I turn off the idle stop feature so the engine idles at stop lights, that way, the valves stay clean. That is what I've read on how the sx works. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I sure hope GM uses this on their next Gen V8s, it would solve alot of the soot problems that their DI engines have.

I wish the engine idled on the port injection, and accelerated on the direct, cuz the Port injected valves are so much cleaner! Most direct Inject valves are caked by 50, 000!!!

For the high hp builds on gen 3 I’ve seen many people eliminate the DI

Helps with diagnosing fuel related misfires also. You can switch between direct or port injection using the FuelMass PID on FDRS.

So it has 16 fuel injectors for a V8 8 direct injection & 8 port injection?

Dual injection or port only! GDI only leads to carbon as we've seen. Even the goated toyota suffers from it in the GDI-only IS250 :(

Crazy to have to take the cab off the frame for a 5.0 (302ci) engine... i get it for big v10 or 7.3 diesel, but the fact that had to happen for this repair is insane...

I'd rather have a 400k mile Tundra than the new crap the big 3 make...

Don't yall get sick of pulling cabs of to fix EVERYTHING? The hell with all that it's ridiculous

I understand direct injection causes carbon build up on the valves ...also heard that if a injector starts to fail it can burn a hole in the piston ? Doant know if its true on the gas engines, but on the diesels engines if the injectors fail it can burn the piston ????

On Toyota’s they use both injection systems simultaneous at certain times. I’m assuming Ford does this too or no?

I’ve got 90k on my 1st gen Coyote. Hoping for 300k out of it 🤞

Why does that look very similar to the high pressure fuel pumps on the newer 4 cylinder Camrys 😂

Question is why you would have to remove the whole cab off the frame just to work on them automakers are getting stupid for the price of the thangs

I’ve been told these can cause “ticking” sound when they start to/fail, Gen3 Coyote sounds owner✌️

Still rather have this than the stupid 3.5 boost. Best run a catch can and empty it every week 😂
