If he looks like he kinda fighting back, the ref has to allow him to fight. He was on his feet and moving. The ref didn't make "a huge mistake, " he let him fight until he couldn't. That's the sport.

the guy was outmatched, was stumbling backwards into the cage and the fighter delivered a flying knee to his head. The ref werent no good but the fighter could have avoided the flying knee too.
