A south African boxer dies after suffering a brain injury in the ring. Simiso Buthelezi was disoriented after scoring a knock down of his opponent. Scary how he was so aware of the moment knocking down his opponent and then just out of nowhere unaware and lost?

The next time anyone calls a boxer, male or female, a "bum, " please remember this fight and fighter. Any person who does this for a living is courageous. Rest In Peace, Simiso Buthelezi.

Quite scary how delicate the brain is and how much damage can be done to it by such little trauma

We’re so used to seeing these fighters for entertainment we often forget they’re human just like us. I give respect to every man/woman who steps in that ring.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Boxing is my favorite sport to watch and I just want to express all respect to everyone who steps into the square ring. The training is brutal, the fight is often near lethal and business of boxing itself is cut throat and soul crushing for most. Yet I love it. Wishing all boxers nothing but the best always.

Now you see why Floyd Mayweather’s style is to hit and not get hit . 20 plus years of boxing and he still has his health

Heartbreaking. This is the ugly side of combat sports that makes me feel guilty for even being a spectator. No-one should have to live with the guilt of killing an opponent when all you wanted was the title.

The other opponent is a coward for celebrating like he wasn’t getting his ass kicked.

Very very sad. My condolences to his family, teammates, and everyone involved. The referee made a great call. I'm sure he feels something negative out of this. I hope he can get over it and continue to do a good job.
