MultiPlus II Performance and Install!

The Multiplus II 2x120 is a great Inverter option for 50 Amp RVs. This video is what we have learned from using it and how it has worked for us. This Inverter is the best power solution with the most features I have seen. It has impressive output and gives a lot of capabilities to your RV. While it has many things it can do, the main feature is that we can have clean reliable power anywhere without a generator including power for our RV fridge while we drive and supply a boost to our shore power when 50 amp isn’t available. In the video I also walk through the details of installing it on our RV. Here is the link to the install diagram.

Inverter Upgrade.

RV Solar Connections. Use Code "AllAboutRVs5"
Bluetooth adapter for monitoring and setting Inverter Hybrid amp limit.

Battery monitor
Option 2 for battery monitor is BMV-712.

and batteries in parallel.
crimp on to the wire I would get a set of 10

Am I the only one who has to watch these videos 4 or 5 times and still picks something new up every time? Great video!

Finally, a video that gives this seriously novice RVer a great overview that takes the intimidation away. Still have much to learn but this gives me a base to build upon.

You are ‘da bomb’!!!!

Instead of one T-fuse I used an MTBF fuse on each positive battery terminal, just a slight edge on safety. I also put an on-off switch on the positive side (after the shunt of course) so anytime I have to work on the positive battery cables there is no ground connection for them to short across a random wrench or dropped screwdriver.

The walk through of the wiring diagram may have been the best I've seen. Well done guys!

I would like to see a video on your dc to dc charge set up / install from the truck.

I'm an electrical engineer, and I'm impressed with the level of design detail in this. I would recommend some better lugs for the high current cables, with more metal and surface area to connect to the batteries. This implementation is forcing a lot of electrons through some (IMO) undersized cable lugs, which can get hotter than they should. Nice job, especially on the fusing and disconnects.

This is the second time I’ve watch this video because I figured out a way to get the multiplus II to fit in my compartment. Going from the original multiplus Will make everything operate so much better. Thank you very much for the video Jared.

Great video Jared! installed our MPII a month ago. Just finished a trip to 30 amp spot and it worked great. Ran both a/c units. batteries never got below 80%.

Thank you! thank you! thank you! Brother, I cannot thank you enough. Your videos, diagrams and knowledge that you have passed on, has taken the fear out of doing this setup. My father and I were able to put together pretty much the same system you showed above...including the install of the cerbo gx. Took us 2 days to assemble, one day to sort everything out and install and we went active on day 3. Following your diagrams and videos allowed us to have a trouble free and very successful install and first flip of the power over to batteries to run our rig! We have been on battery power now for 48 hours and it is awesome! Our whole 50amp rig now runs off batteries!!! Thank you Jared!!

We also use a Micro-Air Easy Start on our Air conditioner, which is 13, 500 BTU. We're looking at buying a Victron MultiPlus 3000 watt to power it. We were worried we might need to scale up to something that's 5000 watt or higher. Glad to hear it's working for you guys!

Jared - your wiring diagrams and videos are awesome and very much appreciated ....just hit the switch on my 300 amp hour battery bank / Multiplus 3000 and Victron dc to dc charger and it is awesome. First evening on the road arrived in a thunderstorm and just ran the ac on batteries only to wait out the storm again for taking the time to share so much!

This was awesome! Do you have another video that shows how you run the inverter power to the panel? You show the conduit, did you remove the underskirt and then run the conduit from the basement to the distribution panel?

I've had the Victron MultiPlus 3000 for 3 years with 4 BB batteries and 600 watt of Solar. My rv is a 30 amp rv and 3000 watt Onan QD. We love the system.

Great Review Jared! Just want to make sure I fully understand your setup. Tell me if I've got my couple of points right. 1) Your switch marked RV Load Disconnect cuts power from the MPPT to the Batteries. 2) Your Bus Bars are used for 12V supply to your 12V Breaker panel section and your Tow Vehicle Charging from either the MPPT or Battery as situation permits, if MPPT has higher voltage than Battery, it will charge batteries and feed 12V Fusebox. (Sorry not sure if MPPT is powered from Solar only or 12V battery or Both as available.) Thanks for all your hard work!
