I really like the way you presented this information: quick and to the point, using pictures to tell the story! When I make bone broth I do it a bit differently (1) I use a pressure cooker, rather than a slow cooker, which achieves the same result in about 2 hours that you get in 24 hours (or more) with the slow cooker -- It saves a *lot* of energy!, and (2) I generally put a fine metal strainer in the canning funnel when filling the jars, just to get out any solids (small, gritty bits of bone, etc.). Otherwise, my procedure is pretty much exactly the same as yours and I think a lot of your viewers will benefit from this clear and easy explanation!

The leftovers from bone broth still contain some valuable nutrients. Usually I cut off any remaining meat & cartilage (usually it just falls off) and then just chop it up and use it in pan scrambles and stirfrys. The meat is pretty flavourless after making bone broth, but as an _additive_ to something with flavour, it works fine. With enough cooking, the bones are extremely soft, so you can run those through a meat grinder to make bone meal which can then either be dried and used as a supplement (try baking it spread thinly on a pan at low temp, then grind into a powder using a NutriBullet or similar), or thrown into the compost or on the garden.

Love it! Kate-I spun your coffee into Bulletproof Broth. This is lunch: salt(s), collagen supp, butter, raw egg yolk.

I used a Le Cresuet Dutch oven. And all water evaporated in 2 hours! Left with cinders!

I have always struggled with making bone broth 'just right, ' many is the time it has come out too liquidy. And I can never find recipes that measure the bones in kg, always pounds (which is a bit of a hassle for me). This is extremely helpful, and will be my go-to on how to make bone broth from now on! Thank you, Kait!

P. S. Can this same basic recipe work for making chicken bone broth? That is, using 2 kg of chicken feet and/or necks?
