Mormon GARMENTS and MODESTY | 3 Mormons

In this episode, we brought back Izzy and Korinne (by popular demand) for another ALL GIRLS episode! Mimi, Izzy and Korinne talk about Mormon garments and the importance of modesty.

The three girls discuss whether or not it's necessary to wear garments while working out. Izzy and Korinne choose not to wear the garment, saying that they don't want to dirty the garment. Mimi, on the other hand, chooses to wear the temple garment as often as possible.

I was just listening to you talking while sorting pictures and you girls sound so sweet. I was about to listen to it again when I noticed this video is almost from 6 yeas ago. If you still check comments on here, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing. After growing up in a Christian church, then joining the Mormon church when I was 18, I've been struggling the past couple weeks if I should go back to Christianity. I just finished watching an ex Mormon video and Mormons commented very hateful comments to David Archuleta and his mom for leaving the church. But you girls made me see again for the first time in a long time the kind if people that made me want to join the church in the first place. Non judging, sweet, no swearing, etc. Thank you for that.

One thing I loved realizing is that your garments are the only thing you wear BOTH inside the temple and outside the temple. They are not meant to control your wardrobe, stifle your fashion, or make you hot. They are meant to help you remember the things you learned and the covenants you made in that sacred building.

President Hinckley taught that, if you can wear the garment, you should. I think he was addressing how men will sometimes go shirtless when mowing lawns, etc.

Thank you for this lovely episode. You are all so beautiful and kind to offer your time and energy to explain your religious and spiritual choices. I appreciated the emphasis on agency in this episode.

I would say I'm a bit more strict on the observance of garments, however some of my very very favorite people have different views on how they will wear theirs. These people serve their ward, family and communities and are extremely moral and loving. Everyone has a different experience and interpretation. I believe learning to respect another's agency and love them as they are is probably more important than we often realize.

Also, plug for garments. I LOVE MY GARMENTS! Aside from the beautifully described protection they offer, I would like to offer up some more benefits… They protect from plumber crack, they keep you warm in the winter, they are pretty, they keep white shirts from getting dingy, if you're wearing a skirt you don't have to worry about wardrobe malfunctions... I could go on. Anyway, I love those garments! Also, you should totally try the new ones. They're divine. (har har har- divine)

I think that they are super helpful and interesting especially since I am super religious. I was wondering if any of you have ever dated someone who wasn't a mormon? and if you have could you make a video on different faith relationships or talk about what it was like?

I love love LOVE how much they are saying they don’t judge anyone on their choices. I think there’s a misconception that if you feel a certain way about something, it means you judge everyone who disagrees. & that is so not the case and this video proves that. So thank you ladies!!!❤️❤️❤️

I know it's a personal choice when to wear your garments, but they have counseled the members to change their clothing style to fit their garments, not the other way around. They do have workout shirts that have capped sleeves, so you don't have to take off your garment top.

I'm a convert to the church and I got endowed a little bit before my wedding. I really was not ready for the garments because some of the clothing I wore was not modest for the garments. I dressed modestly of course on Sundays I don't think I dressed provocatively but when you need to cover up the Garment sometimes what people don't understand is what they have in their wardrobe is not going to cover their garment so sometimes women and men both need to go out and shop again for some more modest clothing that will cover up the Garment. Sometimes that means completely disregarding what you used to wear and starting brand new.

Thank you for thoughts on modesty. I enjoyed your discussion on the topics. I really appreciated that you didn't use "i need to be modest so men/boys won't have impure thoughts". I hate that this idea that women/girls are responsible for the others thoughts has been used to teach women how to dress. I'm hoping this way of teaching modest is fading out.

I het baptized soon and my fiance is a member already when do we go and receive our under garments? Im confused! Do him and i go together to the temple and receive our under garments can someone elaborate!

Also one year from my baptism i will be getting sealed with my husband so im not sure if i wait to get them before sealing or after? Can i do baptisms for the dead before i have garments!?

Im someone Who has been watching a lot of videos trying to figure out what I believe. I’ve been watching a lot of anti-Mormon and morman and videos. A lot of atheist in a lot of religious videos. I’m just wondering if there’s anyone who can help me on my journey and pray for me. I’ve been praying asking which religion I should join in and not getting an answer yet.
