i feel like we needed more crookedstar in the books. he literally lost everything and i think it kinda flew over everyone's heads. he just, he lost his mother and father early on, his brother, his mate, his kits, and yet he had a clan to lead n well .. whatever, this animation and song is amazing.

Mapleshade is actually kind of refreshing from cats taking a mate from a different clan and nothing really happening, she actually went through a lot of suffering and was exiled because of it.

this may sound weird, but I feel REALLY bad for Mapleshade, and I feel like she could've gone to Starclan and become a better cat if she had been reunited with her kits
yeah, she killed some cats, but so did Hollyleaf and Ashfur almost killed kits as well as Squirrelflight
not to mention, she was driven to insanity after a situation that wasn't really her fault
Ravenwing was an absolute d--k
Frecklewish watched kits drown, like wtf
Appledusk abandoned her, their kits, and promises he made
Mapleshade never lied about who the father was, she never confirmed or denied it
freaking Thunderclan banished 3 helpless kits and their mother

I bet if Mapleshade had gone to Starclan and seen her kits, it would have brought her back to reality, because oh ho ho, she was kinda insane, starving, drained, and so on, she couldn't control herself, but having peace would've mended her...
bleh, if you still find her evil or whatever, thats fine, but she feels a bit like a wasted storyline that could've been fixed

Edit: okay its been three years, and lemme just say that I don't think her murders were completely justified, nor that she deserved to go Starclan. It think if she HAD gone to Starclan, she would've been at peace, and yes, she did say that she was happy to be in the dark forest after she died, but idk, I don't think she was really thinking straight at that point, plus revenge was basically all she had going for her by then. Also, out of the three she went after, I feel like Appledick was the only one who shouldve gone to the dark forest, Frecklewish and Ravenwing received punishment through being killed. The most Freckle could have done was call for help, and Raven overreacted, yes, but he didn't mean for them to be straight up exiled, I believe. I also think that the leader at the time, Oakstar, Shouldve had major repercussions ANYWAYS- canon Maple wasnt a good cat, but she could've been helped and was wronged by a lot of cats. In a different universe, she shouldve gone to Starclan and gotten that closure she desperately needed

I know this is about Mapleshade, but I just want to point this out. Crookedstar had to go through so much cruelty, he literally had to watch his entire family die right in front of him, but in the end he stayed strong and didn't let it make him cruel. That is one hell of a strong cat.

Crookedstar's last face-off with Mapleshade was so powerful. Crookedstar endured so much tragedy in his life, lost everyone he loved but he STILL stood up to her and told her she didn't win. She never would.  Mapleshade tried so hard to destroy him, but he proved he was nothing like her. Loyal and true to himself to the end. <3 Mapleshade is an AMAZING tragic villain  ... so underrated ... Crookedstar's Promise is one of my favorites in the series and she's a big reason why.

I'd just realize that MapleShade actually killed the all Appledusk's family, seeking for revenge. Because honestly I think even if she's a dark forest cat she can have impact on the "real" world (She's enough evil to x3). Applesusk's family was over with the death of Oakheart and Crookedstar. Or at least it's what she thought because she probably ignored that Oakheart actually had kids, thanksfully for them.

Love how the text isn't so overbearing as in some other videos. Perhaps it's because the song is faster than you usually see in PMVs, but the movement is great and it feels fluid. Great tail for Mapleshade, btw.
