Hi, i have a scaphoid fractura last month, Dr saying to have a surgery and fix with screw after my MRI report, i am worry about my surgery can i go back to my normal life after surgery, as per x ray its Cracked near to thumb upper side of bone, plz suggest me, Thankful in advance

Hi, I live in the uk and in early 2020 before the pandemic, I fell on my right hand /wrist and was put in a cast for 10 days (slap-back cast) and 10 days (fibreglass cast) (with a week inbetween where I was given a soft removable splint but this made it feel worse because there was little support). I was told that it was a scaphoid fracture by my GP and the doctor at the walk in centre, but at the hospital I was told it was inconclusive that it was a scaphoid fracture. 4 years on and I still have pain and sometimes my thumb locks up. I also have NF1 that can stop bones from healing properly and can also cause weakening of the bones. In my opinion, I think that because I was not wearing the fibreglass cast for 6 weeks, that the first doctor said would be necessary but the doctor at the hospital said wasn’t, this is why it didn’t heal? They never x rayed my wrist after the cast removal and they were going to do a CT scan but it was cancelled because of the pandemic. I did tell both doctors my medical condition but the second one never had heard of it and dismissed this. Can you recommend anything I can do? I don’t really want to return to the hospital because 1. COVID is still very much around and 2. It can take up to 6 months to a year (yep you read that right) to get an appointment to be seen after waiting for a referral from a GP which can also take 6-8 weeks.

A soccer ball hit my thumb and jammed it and my docter is telling me this is likely what happened, waiting on X-rays but I have all symptoms and areas of swelling 😅😢

I have a scaphoid fracture since ist september 2024 _After four days I applied plaster _After one and a half month I got an MRI done. There was no sign of vascular necrosis. Now its been 3 months in immobilization total _Now after 3 months I got CT scan done again _There was no sign of AVN even in CT scan. soft tissues have also formed and bones of hands shows disuse osteoporosis _But when I press on the anatomic suna box, I feel full of tenderness. There is also Swelling in the wrist_Now please tell me what should I do next ??

Hello, i have been ignoring my wrist injury for the past 5 months, apparently did my scans the doc said its scaphoid and landed up here, doc said i will require a screw and then a healing process. I was wondering is possible for the internal wound to not heal by any chance?

When I fractured my scaphoid (waist) I didn't feel it for the first 24hrs. It was weird.

I had a scaphoid fracture 2 years ago but due to negligence i could not get it healed. Now I have a MRI done there is AVN in Scaphoid. What can be better thing to do? any surgery?

My scaphoid have fractured 5 year ago and just detected it on this year.I will get surgery in this December.I quite confuse about should i get surgery or not because of it not interrupt my activity life.
