Food Food and more Food! Is Explora Journeys food worth it?

We try all the food on board the new Explora 1. We break down all the food what is included and if we thought it was good and worth it. We also finish the trip off with food from Anthology, which is the only restaurant that coast more on board.

We didn't know what to expect when it came to the food on Explora. Especially with it being such a new cruise line. But let's just say it didn't disappoint! So let's dive into all the food on board.

Thanks for these videos, can’t wait to go on Explora 2 in February, can I ask about dress code for the restaurants in an evening? Is there one is everything acceptable husbands wants to wear shorts but I’m not sure there allowed

Thanks for your positive reaction. There are a lot of cultural norms that, unless you are insensitive, require consideration if you are a world traveller. Whilst essentially all cruise lines offer travel, food and entertainment. The actual experience differs enormously depending on your choice of cruise line, and dare I say it the price that you pay. So make sure you research carefully before booking. I recently watched a vlog by a 20-something American citizen who travelled solo on a UK based cruise line that markets specifically aiming at families and an older demographic. It wasn't a match, so he didn't enjoy it. No suprise . Explora seems very appropriate for couples, looking for something refined and relaxing. Try Seaborne or Silversea next. Both are excellent with the latter, just that little bit more European. Regent seven seas is truly excellent as well with terrific food and service and a little bit more of a traditional vibe.

Dress code is an interesting subject. Much discussed. English and European guests are much more inclined to dress for dinner. Informal to them means carefully dressed, gentlemen should not wear shorts t shirts, hoodies or baseball caps for dinner or even lunch in a formal setting. If you are travelling on a vessel in Europe were there are more European guests than American it's worth bearing in mind. It's a cultural difference but an important one. Europeans also tend to take a little longer to dine. Hope this helps.
