Trying Celebrity Chef Signature Dishes: Thomas Keller “Salmon Cornets"

For those that dont know, its called the French Laundry because the original owners ran a steam Laundry service, "The French", they paid homage to them by keeping the name and referring to the difficulty of the service

For those wondering about the tiny portion size! I read about this in thomas kellers' french laundry cookbook. He explains that the best bites of any meal are always the first 2 or 3 when your first tasting the dish, but after that its diminishing returns. So rather than have one very large dish, the french laundry does many dishes that are 2 to 3 bites each! I believe their smallest tasting menu is like 8 courses or something.

I used to think that small portions at fancy restaurants were all a scam, but this was the first time i felt it actually made sense! (Some fancy restaurants are definetly a scam tho with the portions)

went to the french laundry in 2022 and was the best course meal I've ever had. Every bite put me into pure bliss

It's too depressing that he stopped grading them. It wasn't just about seeing a tier list but actually getting to hear an opinion on the awesome food you just saw made. I hope he works on meeting halfway in the future so i can get an idea of what the dish is like. This guy is beyond successful, giving an honest opinion isnt wrong. His reputation will be just fine

I know this won’t get any attention but I just had to say, my uncle used to be a chef at French Laundry, and I got to see the little garden they use for a lot of their produce! Pretty interesting experience!!!
