Dr. Seheult discusses a variety of key concepts and questions that you should consider asking if you or a loved one go to the hospital for COVID-19. Different levels of care after hospital admission, oxygen requirements (from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation to ECMO), and prone positioning are illustrated. Part 2 of this video (we're working on releasing this soon) will cover lab markers, medications, and DNR status among other topics.

I showed my daughter-in-law, who is a RN, some of the MedCram Covid-19 videos. She said she could listen to them for 8 hours straight. Thank you Dr Seheult.

That is interesting that such a simple thing as lying in a prone position could help a patient stay off of a ventilator.

My father was in the hospital for COVID-19 and was put on Remdesivir 100mg/20mL for 30 mins daily and 2 Baricitinib tablets daily for a week. 6 tubes full of blood taken every day. Blood saturation remained stable and he remained on oxygen support through his nose.
His chest scans showed lung damage in the upper sections of both lungs. He used a plastic straw to rehabilitate his lungs and now he has been removed off oxygen and is able to walk around and hold conversations without extreme fatigue.

The presentations are usually clearly understandable even for someone who is not particularly conversant with biology, chemistry and general medical knowledge. This is the only such presentation that I watch any more. Thank you so much.

I am so impressed by your videos. I watched all COVID-19 related lectures, and even send to my coworkers update 59 about your own daily regimen. I work as nurse in labor and delivery unit and we have pregnant patients with COVID-19. What I noticed that hardly they exhibit fever, just few had SpO2 below 95, so they required supplemental O2, but Xray always shows different degree of pneumonia. In our county hospital affiliated with famous medical college ( we have in house attendings and residents 24 h/day) they don't use markers( D-dimer, ferritin, CRP) in pregnant patients to predict course of infection. But so far we did not have any bad outcomes. Thank you very much Dr Seheult for high quality material you always present in easy to understand manner.

Though I only practiced as an RN for 5 years, I'm so grateful to have had the education. I educated my daughter from a young age about anatomy & physiology. I truly believe we could have a massive positive effect on our population if we included this education for ALL students. I'd love to see it taught over the course of several years, age appropriate, so that by high school graduation, each person had an "owners manual". Even if they didn't go on to study medicine, they would be better informed healthcare consumers. So much of what we teach kids isn't relevant to them personally, THIS is. Why can't we make this happen?

Thank you so much for ALL the wonderful unbiased information you've been giving us for so many months now. I don't know how you find the time to do it! You explain everything so clearly that even though I'm not a med student it rarely goes over my head. That's amazing! The big unknowns are always the most frightening things, so by shining a light on covid19 in great detail and making it seem more familiar you help keep me calm :) Thank you so much. May all blessings be showered upon you
