I'm more excited for LMDE 6. I hope all these features will be included there too.

The Linux Mint Cinnamon has been my daily driver for about 2 weeks now and it always amazes me every time I use it. I already configured it including the installations of the necessary software/apps. I will never go back to Windows and will even convince my friends to switch to Linux.

16:45 MX Linux has a AHS version with the latest kernel, also KDE is auto AHS.

20:58 to 21:02. " Title bar buttons realigned". I don't think anyone was complaining about that. Most people have been asking for an EASIER ...STOCK..way of making the title bar buttons bigger ( smurphos' meta city theme from the Mint 19 era was an awesome tool but alas...doesn't work in LM 21 versions yet )

I'm running LM 21.1 Cinnamon and I watched your video on how to make modern like traditional, so I put mine to modern and started to follow that video. When I opened the preferences like you did, some of the options you had were not in on 21.1, so I have a feeling it's the same on 21.2. But in the applets there is a window list applet that does similiar to what you did in the video.

And that's exactly why Linus Torvalds uses Linux Mint. Simple and great to use Linux. (edit) Sorry using Fedora Linux distro right now :-)

I think thumbnails (for me) got borked in 19 or 20 so I made my own solution. I always get the blackscreen on a fresh VM installs. It's a switch/switch back and it never breaks again fix. Mint always ships with old VLC.

I hope they'll one day have some news about transitioning to wayland... They are quite behind at this point, and depending on how long the process takes, they could be many years behind.

I'm with you on the pinned apps vs quick launch buttons. I don't have a problem with it being there but I want to be able to use the old method as an option. This is the same with Windows. Very annoying.
I've noticed a lot of UI changes are the same as Windows and they sadly are adopting changes that are bad in my opinion. There's a lot of visual feedback being added to things that don't need it and taken from things that do. I want my title bar to change to a solid colour to show what is active, not some washed out grey vs a less washed out grey text, it's poor design. Same problem with scroll bars, hard to see the difference between the scroll bar and the area it can be dragged.

The UI dosent look bad, but somehow i find gnome more easy to use..with extensions you can get pretty much what you want..but i must admit that mint team at least do their own UI, and i know that they will improve it further.Good thing is that you have all packed up by default..you dont need to search what extension you need..etc..

I have been testing out Tuxedo OS in a VM this morning and I am impressed. I am a rolling release kind of guy, so Tumbleweed is my go-to of choice, but Tuxedo is a hybrid-rolling release based on Kubuntu. It piqued my interest.

7:18 to 7:30. That's a deal breaker...I REFUSE to go to modern. I have a specific way I setup my panel and modern is a no-go. So I'll stick to 21.1 Until whatever newer version brings back my ability to choose Traditional ...IN CASE...whatever or whoever's ( including Tom's) guides don't work.

I dont know what you are talking about with the task bar ....Im using this beta right now and im using the "older" bar style open apps indicator. It works fine! by the way I LOVE this version of mint. Its so snappy and clean that im considering coming back to mint from MXlinux.

Shouldn't the new LMDE version be out soon?

Hi. I must warn against trying to upgrade to the beta at this time. Did it today and my system just crashed. Luckily I found a way to get a terminal running and restore a Timeshift save without problems. Still scary though. I saw during the 21.2 install that it gave an error on the last line (in terminal); shouldn't have ignored it... I'll wait until official release or try it out in a VM.

I'm totally with you on hating the new taskbar type. It's the first thing I'd be doing, changing that back to the classic type. Can't understand how anyone thinks the new type is an improvement? It's just awful!

Linuxmint 21.2 program "Drawing" does not correctly resize Photo Images.

Are they eventually going to move to Wayland?

Why not include an icon preview in the file picker when uploading in Chrome or Firefox? The majority of distros have the old primitive tiny icon view of the files, but in gnome 44 you can actually resize the icons of the files you want to upload. I'm not referring to the icon previews in Nemo or Nautilus, but to the file selector when uploading to the internet. To that end, I use KDE because its file picker allows you to enlarge the icons so you know what you're uploading. These are the real things that should be considered as an version upgrade opposed to pretty colours and icons
