If you are from Latin America, you know what Baldor's algebra book means for us! 👨🏻‍🏫📖🌎

I set a new goal of trying to do 20 pages of math a day. I did a hour and half today and only manage to work through 2 pages of algebra😆😆I'm alternating now between algebra and precalculus. enjoy these videos for the books and advice

The correct solution for #39 is x = -1/2
My earlier solution that all numbers are solutions, but I fogot the two sides had the same numerator, -20, but different denominators!

Which book is good to study algebra after to have studied álgebra Baldor?

This is an elementary algebra book.
The best I remember is the polinomial divition and the factrization chapter.
Take a look to the miselaneous exercises at the end of the chapter.

That was my father's high school algebra book, he is currently in his mid 60s! 😂

Nice review! I went through it in 2003 when I was in middle school in Peru. Most weekends went by solving those problems. I studied also the Arithmetics one too.

I am Latin American and as much as I praise Rudin, Lang, Lee, Ross, Rosen, Thomas, and Spivak, I do want my children to learn in Spanish first. Thus I am very glad that you have showcased this book which I will consider buying. I will in addition try to get Spanish versions of the aforementioned books. I know Rudin has had his translated.

Hi Math sorcerer. Yes sir this book is THE math book that made love math to begin with a true statement for someone who was born in the US and grew up in South Florida. I actually have the original hardback that was my dads and two other copies of this book. The historical portraits of the great mathematicians is certainly a nice touch to be sure. Baldor was a Cuban mathematician and this book was his magnum opus on Algebra. He also has an Arithmetic book and a Geometry book as well, book a good books on their respective treatments but the Algebra book is king. original book had 6400 problems and I also own the solutions book from the original that contains not only the answers but the worked out steps to each solution. Truly a masterpiece of a math book.

I have a great recommendation for a book review it is called “Mathematics: From the birth of numbers” by Jan Gullberg who not even a mathematician himself but who is a medical surgeon who was inspired to write the book when his son was studying to become an engineer in Indiana.another great math book.

Aurelio Ángel Baldor de la Vega (October 22, 1906, Havana, Cuba – April 2, 1978, Miami)
I feel like learning Spanish just to read this book.

You should get the new edition of the Baldor series (algebra, trigonometry, and even arithmetics). They have beautiful covers.

I prefer a more direct book with the explanations.
I find american curriculum books suffer from using too many abstract examples.
Every question is always some real life situation with names and places thrown in.
All it does is confuse the simple information that they should be trying to convey.
Some time they even omit proof of the equation relying wholly on abstract examples to explain the technique.

That being said, I find too many work questions to be a waste of time.
100+ is wasting your time unless you really take a long time to get a topic.
If you know the principles, move on and learn the next steps.

Wow. My Spanish knowledge pretty much stops at "¿Dónde está el baño" and "Mi nombre es Felipe", but I still want this book. Maybe it'll serve as motivation to pick up some Spanish lessons!

Physics books in Spanish would be great for building vocabulary, too, since they usually have even more text to read than math books.

Someone should translate this awesome book in English. It would help thousands of students practice the harrowing algebra problems.

If it hadn't been for that book (in its previous edition), I wouldn't have graduated high school, and certainly I wouldn't have gotten my Ph.D. in engineering physics, it's good to have the best math learn and basis. Thanks for the review.
