Andrew, very kind of you to make this video. Insightful and very helpful to those of us struggling to hit 3 wood. I thought the difference would be minimal and this confirms my thoughts of going with the strong hybrid. Thank you much Andrew. keep up the great work. Mich.

Had to watch this again. I frequently hit my Ping 3 Wood off the tee. I had a major event happen for me Andrew. I actually hit my Ping 3 Wood 287 yards off the tee which is amazing for me. Its the longest ball I have ever hit period. I am usually more like 210-230 with either driver or 3 wood. Even though I am a Senior it seems like my distance has been increasing this year off driver and 3 wood at times. Hope all is going well for you at the Golf Academy and otherwise. Stay well my friend.

Great video Andrew. I love the idea of hitting the club you feel most comfortable on THat DAY. It's true that self-confidence will SURELY affect the outcome of a shot. And that's true not only in golf, but in tennis as well and in other sports. Thanks again.

Great review. Lots of judgement goes into club selection sometimes. As those choices often decide the contests. So, knowing what you hit best in terms of reliability is important. Good show Andy!!!! Spider Dubiel

For me club selection off the tee is based on the length needed. Unless I need to hit it shorter, I will always take a driver

Hi Andrew
Great channel, my favourite club when things get tight is a 4 crossover with a 3 crossover shaft, it just seems to be easy to launch and it carries about 210-220 in good conditions.

Very interesting stats. I can't get a 17 deg hybrid in the air very well, so i tend to use my Titleist 7 wood off the tee for position.

Exactly my issue. I tee with a 22 degree hybrid and get 220-240. 3 wood not so much. Thinking of getting a
17 degree

Hi Andrew, thanks for the video's, I'm enjoying them. I've got a question, I'm assuming that you matched the clubheadspeed of both clubs tot be equal, isn't this unfair? I do believe your clubheadspeed would normally be higher with a three wood over a 2 hybrid, due to the longer shaft. Therefore the ballspeed and carry distance should be up. I would like to hear your thoughts. Greetings from the netherlands.

I hit 16.5 deg 915F on the tee, but its custom fit at 42 ins for added control...

Hi Andrew. Thanks for the test but I am not sure I agree with trying to get similar strikes without the use of a HMT unit. It looks like your just matching swing speed and ball speed.... Isn't the point of the test to compare an average of shots good and bad?

I am sorry but this test doesn't show me anything or prove anything. I know for a fact that with my GC2 unit, if I hit 5 shots with each i would get massive differences from my hybrid i20 19 degree to my 15.5 degree G30.

Andy. I have a Ping G 400 Max driver. It came with the regular flex Alta 55 shaft. It came 45 3/4 inches. Can I cut that down on the butt end to 43 inches? I am told it would not pose any issues. Figured I would ask you. Thanks.
