Ah yes no lord of the rings or hobbit on this list now I can tell my wife it’s completely justified to buy the $560.00 Smaug model.

So, The only one I disagree with here is Ephreal Stern and Kyganil, as they’re both imperium models, not Harlequin, and can be run together without breaking army rules as long as it’s imperium

As an engineer, with a lot of studies in production behind me - I felt like I had to make a comment.
The pricing is not random, far from it. The price for materials to produce a set is basically nothing. As well, one is able to produce so many, so fast - that the hourly wage of production workers can be largely ignored as well.
The thing that costs, is the design and the payment for the forms. That is why the cost seems so random. Production itself doesn't cost that much, but introducing a new model is extremely EXPENSIVE. This is a one time price, however, and has to be spread out over multiple boxes. Boxes they expect to sell a lot of, therefore have the price spread out over more (and becomes cheaper) - while boxes they expect to sell less of, will have inflated prices as they have to pay back the initial payment over less boxes. Concerning the Start collecting and Starter sets, the same happens. As well, GW is willing to accept a possible loss on these, as they believe they'll gain more from the sales of other boxes - because of them.

I'm not saying the prices are fair, or that GW doesn't take a premium to make a tonne of profit. I just felt like I wanted to explain the "randomness", as one the understand the workings of production.

I can really appreciate how much better you’ve gotten at presenting in the 2 years since this video came out

I acknowledge that this list was for 40k, but the AoS Fyreslayers Start Collecting box is literally the same price as one of the models in the box along with 12 more for free

Some of the prices for these single models are quite literally INSANE.
$35 for a single normal marine. Wow. That's not ok

My Tau army has more Kroot models in it than Tau.... its not a coincidence.

Flayed ones should be an honorable mention, 55$ MSRP for 5 tiny guys where every bit gets used, it’s like 1 sprue and I believe the most expensive $/in game point in 40k

Was surprised that horrendous Contemptor Dread didn’t make the cut. Could have been a real fan favourite if more than two minutes had been put into the design for the single model release

The start collecting Thousand Sons box is superb value if you want to get into Kill team.

@EonsOfBattle
you cant play Stern without Kyganil, they also can only be played in an Imperium army, and not Harlequins army for some reason.
They arrive as one unit but afterwards act as two seperate units.

6th bad: the deathscythe Terminators from Deathguard, the gw version is 3 for 45 euro but the forgeworld version is 6 for 60 euro!! The first time forgeworld is cheaper

I'm pleased to see the Tzeentch box getting some recognition. It's not only a great value, but everything is usable for multiple armies which drives the value up. You can play them as a daemons or Thousand Sons army in 40k, or a Tzeentch, Chaos, or Slaves to Darkness army in AoS.

Yeah, I got the Assassination Squad game back when it came out because I love the assassins. That game was $150.00 and it came with: 4 Assassins, 15 Cultists, 3 Chaos Marines, 1 Chaos Sorcerer Lord and the rest of a FREAKING BOARD GAME! (Which is actually pretty fun to play on its own as a nice bonus). How they sell just the four assassins for $140.00 boggles my mind.

I remember my mate having the vindicar assassin 20 odd years ago, awesome model. Also the primaris lieutenant is the best primaris unit for kitbashing a primaris sized emperors champion.

50$ Mek guns for sure. 1$ per 1pts is abysmal, and you need around 12 of those.
