LOVE, LOVE my 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid! I've had it barely 6 months. I had a CRV before this The gas mileage is twice what I got with the CRV. It's a perfect size for me. I don't need a larger SUV and the Cross was a clear winner with the Hybrid option when I bought it.

No doubt the CRV hybrid is a good SUV, but I wouldn´t say it is more reliable than the RAV4 hybrid, it already has recalls about fuel pumps and sticky steering wheel. After the refresh in 2022, the Rav4 allegedly fixed the "cablegate" issue, so I´d say the Rav4 after 6 years is more reliable than the current CRV, at least before a refresh of the latter.

I like all the SUV's in your top ten. Although you went too quick to list all the details, you mentioned the important things that help you reach your conclusion. I have test driven most of them, but excluded the smaller ones, and I agree with the CRV hybrid as a top pick. There was one major issue aI had with the CRV, no spare tire. I consider this a major safety issue and it needs to be considered for the next generation of SUV's and cars. At least trucks still include a full size spare tire, which was the stndard for all vehicles in the past.

Cx 50 awd is the best of both worlds. Mazda driving dynamics and the rav 4 drivetrain.

We've always and, continue to use manual vehicles but, 3 yrs ago I purchased a 2018 Rav4 limited, great car, no issues BUT, really boring to drive, like it's an appliance. Is it our manual history or are all the new SUVs like this ?

We will be looking at a Small, Nimble, Attractive CUV/SUV that offers easy access for a family member with back issues.
At this point, we are particularly interested in the Mazda CX-30. The base naturally aspirated 2.5L should offer 250K miles with a conventional automatic transmission. Best of all, for a daily driver, it looks pretty sharp.

Consumer Reports just announced that Subaru is the most reliable car brand for 2024. #2 is Lexus, #3 is Toyota, #4 is Honda, and #5 is Acura. Mazda slipped slightly to #6 due to some 1st year reliability issues with the CX-90.

- 2025 Subaru Forester reliability score is 98/100 (the highest of any other Compact/ sub-compact SUV).

- 2024 Subaru Forester reliability score is 82/ 100
