There's some additional techniques to punch defense you may find handy: for a barrage of punches, you can close the distance with your arms covering your face, and from there you can flip your opponent
and as for a round punch; there's this MCMAP round punch defense that's real good

Learn boxing, kick boxing, or Muay Thai. This is all blah, blah. If you don't practice how to slip punches in real time, it isn't going to work in the real world.

You don't need Ninja like reflexes to get to the outside of a punch. Either you got it or you don't.

Fact is most officers don't train once they leave the academy. That's on the officers, even if you offered pay increases for training. Many won't care to do it.

Unless you are a trained fighter who trains frequently, when that abnormal event of a bad guy actually trying to physically attack you happens, you’ll shit your pants and try to tackle him hoping back up arrives soon. Not saying this isn’t good advise or training but let’s be honest.
