This is not meant to be a comprehensive guide. This is meant to be used as a quick guide to Active Directory for someone who is new to working with Windows Servers. The demonstration is done using Windows Server 2019. This explanation is still valid for Windows Server 2022 as Microsoft has not changed the GUI and features significantly on the new version.

Hello. Thank you SOOO much for this very information and clearly demonstrated video about AD and it's components. I do have one question, please. You created users inside the OU named, "Content Creation" and then added them to the Groups inside that OU (Managers and Employees). Why not just open up the Groups folder and THEN creating the users there instead creating them in the more broader OU and then "Add"-ing them to their groups? Thanks so much. I'm a little bit confused and think I would be if under the Content Creation or the Social Media OU seeing the groups in the right pane and also every user possibly created (10-3, 000 names) and then looking inside those respective groups, seeing these members again. (Just trying to understand this process). Thanks from you time and helping us globally!! Huie (USA)
