Hello Igor, I don't know where you come from, but your amusement about Russia today says a lot.
Most of the people have never been in Russia, and while landing in Moscow, they show surprise that it is a capital city far better than many others in Europe and Usa, because basically they have never traveled extensively abroad.
Moscow is an island inside Russia, it's surely improved under Sobianin, but the rest of Russia is much less developed.
So please all viewers take in mind this, in order to avoid resulting ridicolous as some famous journalist that travels in Moscow and sees that the roads are mostly clean and that the metro system is cool.

Too many Americans think that Russia is eonomically still stuck in the 1990's when the US was much more dominant but nowadays there are so many other options.Obviously, Russia is pushing east economically more towards China but that would have eventually happened anyway even without the sanctions.
