literally!! i’ll be cutting up cucumbers for myself and decide to walk over to my birds cage to offer her a little slice and in classic bird fashion she denied it BUT AS SOON AS I STARTED EATING IT with some pita bread and hummus SHE WAS LIKE “👀👀👀what’s that😏” then she ate the cucumber 😂😂

Birds often want to eat the food you also eat. My bird often hangs around when we are eating hoping to steal some food even if she has already eaten fruit of seeds. Her favorite is freshly squeezed orange juice.

Even if they love it, do NOT give flour-based foods (bread, pasta, etc.) or fried and spicy foods (sweet, salty or other spices) to birds (and most animals for that matter) because they do not have a digestive system adapted to digestion of these elements. This clogs up their entire digestive system and ends up poisoning them!

When I eat some of my favorite chips and cookies, my two precious little parakeets hear my crunching and stretch their necks thinking, "What you eating?" I know I cannot feed them human salty and sugary snacks, so I gave them a lettuce slice, and they threw it on the floor. The only fruit they like is strawberries, since there are seeds in there. 😆

And all 3 of my birds are CRAZY about popcorn. It is so strange. They will fight like crows and seagulls over it.
