🆚 Bing vs. Google - is Bing really better & should you switch now?

Google has been the champion of search for as long as most people can remember. Has Google gotten lazy and let Bing, a crafty upstart owned by Microsoft, take the lead in search? We know Google “owns” everything it finds out about us. What about Bing? I think you should have included privacy as a criteria.

I have been using Bing for years now and 95% results are what I need. Bing and its wallpapers are nice 😍

Bing is my preference. If I find that the search results are lacking then I head over to Google.

My reason to use Bing:
1. It is not Google, so it makes me feel a little bit special when other people are using Google but I am not.
2. I like the Edge browser which is also from Microsoft.
3. My email is by outlook which is form Microsoft.
4. Bing has Rewards and you can redeem different kind of stuff if you search a lot.

I agree that Bing's image and video search is by far better. I'm a photographer and take a lot of bird photographs. If I can't identify the bird, I can just drop the shot on the search box and it will find enough matching shots that I can see what the name is easily.

bing allows you to give to charity and to collect rewards for high street retailers while you search and take fun quizzes each day

Bing tracking is slightly lesser than google's but search results aren't that accurate, so I keep switching according to my needs

Why not something more meaningful: compare search engines that do not censor their results - vs google?

My most desired new feature for both is a radio button to filter results for the last 1, 2 or 3 years -- which is something I do most of the time looking for answers to technical problems. Five and ten year old answers are just a distraction, and having to do to a custom search to filter them out each time is a huge waste of effort when a set of radio buttons could do the same thing.

Hmmm. This is why I don't like to compare search engines. Because they are so good. But in my opinion I think that Google is better because Google's success came from its desire and ability to provide higher-quality results for each user AND connects to other apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides etc...)

It is not Google or Edge or Bing or whatever, it is Kevin that wins. Because Kevin's Channel is a search engine itself. Whatever you search, you get Kevin's Video always pop up on top.

From my perspective there’s only one thing that matters and that search results. Because Google gives better search results I could care less about all the bells and whistle’s in Bing

I have used Bing since I started using Edge years back. It is ok but sometimes I can't find what I am looking for and that is when I switch to Google.

Kevin likes seeing a different image every day: I like seeing basically the same minimalist Google search page. When searching I don't want to be entertained or "informed" by the search engine, I just want search results.

I also like the easy access to things like maps, YouTube, translate, and calendar.

I switched to bing and Edge because of the way they highlight actors from photos when you search for celebs, and give nice fun facts and the rest

You could have ended on a tie if you'd included what Google tracks about you! Maybe Bing does it too, but whereas in the 90's everyone said Microsoft was Big Brother, Google has proven that Google IS Big Brother in an evil way.

The interesting thing about google search is that it used to show a preview of the video. This feature was removed some years ago for some reason. No idea why
