This is by far the best channel to learn about diagnostics. Most videos are hours long and assume you already know the ideas. These 15 min videos are perfect for people like me just getting into it.

Great vid. Couple of things I learnt. Easy test sing comms test to module to test can connectivity. And the voltage test for high and low can is useful quick test. And using the resistance check. But then using piscoscope to confirm diagnoses using evidence. No guessing! 20 years out of workshop so nice to keep learning and keep hand in. Thanks again.

An excellent introduction to CAN bus. Thank you. I shall watch some more of your stuff now as this is all new to me. (I've just skipped forward 25 years in automotive technology, from 1997 - the last year before everything had a computer and a CAN bus.)

Back again trying to freshen up my Can bus knowledge. Fighting with a Bobcat skid steer loader having electrical gremlins keeping it from powering up. Pretty sure I traced it down to a bad display module! Thanks for the good video!

Excellent videos! Especially for those with less experience with CAN bus networks like me. I do have a suggestion that might help many of us novices. Can you make a detailed video of what pins on the module harness to tap into with a scope or multimeter to diagnose or test a CAN bus network on say the KGM module on a E series bmw?

Wow, I'm so impressed. You wouldn't believe how many hundred times I had to explain all of that to the mechanic who wants to send me the instrument cluster for a repair due to ie. ABS fault on the cluster but the "diagnostic machine" doesn't say that ABS is faulty, so it must be the instrument cluster. Or because Google says that. From now on I'll be sharing that video with them :)
Just for your information, or rather clarification as I assume you know that- it's not LOW SPEED CAN which doesn't use the termination and has a different voltages, it's the FAULT TOLERANT CAN (FT) characteristic. FT CAN is used in BMW @ 100kbit/s, FERRARI @ 50kbit/s, MB @ 125kbit/s and the "STANDARD" CAN which can go as slow as 40kbit/s is also used with the same speeds of 125kbit/s ie in FORD, JAGUAR, LAND ROVER. It's the same speed as FT CAN on this BMW.
