How to Set CANBUS Settings on an Android Car Radio

In order to do this, you will need the password which is also given in this video (1617). For even more settings, use password: 16176699.

If you are using a different Android aftermarket radio than the one shown here, you may need a different password. Here is a list of common passwords for these types of radios. (If you come across a different password/code, please let me know in the comments section of this video)!

Have you installed an aftermarket Android Radio in your vehicle, but now the A/C, heater, or blower doesn’t work correctly? Changing the CANbus settings may fix the problem.

CAN bus refers to a “Controller Area Network” that is a vehicle bus standard that allows devices within the vehicle to communicate with each other without a host computer (such as your aftermarket radio communicating with your dual-zone A/C). In order for CANbus to communicate properly, each component needs to be using the same communications protocol. Different vehicles may have slightly different communication based on the features/functions that the car has.

A good example of this is a Honda Accord that has a single air-conditioning setting for the entire vehicle, vs the same vehicle with dual climate control. The communication between the A/C settings will be slightly different between these 2 different styles. If the wrong canbus setting is set, then certain functions won’t work.

In order for the aftermarket radio to work correctly, it needs to know which vehicle it is being installed in. Fortunately, you can set this in the settings of the Android Radio. This video walks through the process of entering the radio settings and changing the CAN-bus type.

Make sure you have installed the radio correctly! There is a “Y-cable” with green connectors. This should be used if you have a single climate control. It should NOT be used if you have a dual climate control vehicle. Just make sure you follow the instructions when you install the radio, and you should be fine.

What a legend thank you! this guide help me troubleshoot my Telsa style 9.2 inch android unit the CANBUS settings from the shiped unit was not set correctly and the A/C, fan, demister options was not working on the tablet interface, but going through the CANBUS settings similar to your one from 1:07 screen (btw my password to access th Factory settings was "8888", selected profile "cytong/Honda/Accord 7 (7 gen) and presto settings worked. Did a reset for good measure, happy days. Thanks again champ.

my aircond has been acting funny after i installed this china android player...i found ur video and decided to enter into the can setup but unable to find my vehicle type..but i did enter into the customised setup and 'close' all the temperature control and anything to do with air and so far my aircond is as cold as before i installed the android player...imagine i had change my aircond compressor and even did flushing and still the aircond technician with 20 years experienced couldnt find any problem with my aircond system...the aircond problem started after i installed the android player ( before that it was fine)...im still trying this 'close' all temperature and air related settings to see whther i got it right...hope for the best

Literally did this to a UK car, right hand drive, With an android unit

And the system was showing the corrext side of which door was open. After doing a can bus config. now i open the drivers DOOR it shows the passenger door is open??? fml. And i just can't find anywhere in the settings to turn it off completely or configure it to the correct side.

Probably might fix it self with a factory reset, but i really can't be bithered to re download apps. Plus, i was originally having trouble signing into google Products. Now it's fixed itself. I have this stupid problem with the door display, lol.

I have bought a Canbus adapter for my Honda FRV but FRV isn't in the Honda list, unfortunately.
Would i be able to set the Canbus adapter on another model like civic or CR-V etc and choose the year of my FRV? Or will that not work?

Hi. Just bumped into this guide from nowhere. I have installed a Chinese Android head unit which has started behaving strangely. It doesn't switch from the reverse view to the Android dashboard. The screen appears blank with the radar lines. Rest all is working fine.
