DIY Tarp Camping Canopy

I was about to purchase a couple hundred dollar canopy for an upcoming camping trip when I thought to myself, as i often do, why not make it. And then bam there it is. I spent $60 on the brown heavy duty 16 x 20 tarp at home depot. The 10 2x2 cedar poles were $7 each. I made the guy line out of cheap rope $12 50ft x 3 and a small wood block with 2 holes for adding tension. So just around $165. The benefits are this canopy will seat around 15 people in camp chairs. It is also modular in that you can cut poles to different lengths and move them back and forth among the many eyelets.

These kinds of tarp shelters are very common in Australia, Camping stores have heaps of accessories for setting them up.

i covered my car with the same kind of tarp that you have and i thought that the silver goes on top and the brown down in the inside. Am I wrong??
