Practice fire starting most the time it works in seconds if you do it right, but the conditions are not always perfect learn it in bad windy wet conditions too. It's too easy to make a fire on a perfect weather day

However, all those sexy knots are unnecessary in a SURVIVAL situation, especially for newbies.

In those high-stack scenarios, clear thinking dwindles relatively quickly, and trying to remember AND/OR apply sexy knots might determine life or death!
